Christopher North, (D, Greenport, NY) is seeking to represent the assembly 2nd District in Suffolk County, as a dynamic voice for Long Island recognition in Albany. His leadership abilities became apparent as a result of his election on to the Board of Trustees of Suffolk Community College as the student body's representative.
During his tenure on the Board Chris demonstrated his extraordinary leadership skills while ensuring that the students he represented had access to quality education.
As a member of the Finance and Budget Committee, North worked on increased grant funding for student tuition, public transportation access and academic issues pertaining to increased student enrollment. Through these exchanges, Chris developed his keen financial responsibility and insight and learned how to communicate with a broad range of people.
Chris was an elected Senator for three consecutive terms to the Student Government Association at Suffolk Community College, Eastern Campus and served for the years 2013 thru 2016.
He was an Intern in the Suffolk County Legislator Page Program in 2016 and learned how the government works from the inside.
In 2017 Chris graduated from Suffolk Community College. After graduation he continued to work on Senate and Congressional campaigns in Suffolk County, New York.
Chris was invited to join the Southold town Anti-bias Task Force where he initiates positive communication between our elected officials, the Southold Police Department and our community members.
Quality education is at the core of Chris' campaign for the Assembly seat.
As an elected Assemblyman representing the 2ndDistrict, he will continue to promote financial accountability, increased recognition of the unique needs affecting our East End economies and environment, as well as the individual issues effecting the overtaxed, foreclosed and affordability for our homeowners and residents seeking a better quality of life.
